LINK is Kentucky's state breastfeeding coalition. The coalition was formed to help protect, promote and support breastfeeding across Kentucky. LINK brings together breastfeeding professionals and supporters from diverse backgrounds which we believe is necessary to provide the broad spectrum of support needed to achieve the goal of creating social change and making breastfeeding normal. La Leche League provides mother to mother breastfeeding support. Meetings are open to all pregnant and breastfeeding women and their children. We highly encourage you to attend meetings during your pregnancy and breastfeeding experiences for the following reasons: 1. We feel it is beneficial to see breastfeeding happen before you have to do it yourself. 2. Get to know other breastfeeding moms and develop friendships in a supportive environment. 3. Learn from the experiences of other experienced moms. These moms often have tips and tricks for returning to work, managing life with a newborn and much more! Trained leaders can ensure the advice shared is accurate and supportive of breastfeeding. 4. It helps you to remember that breastfeeding is normal when you may feel you are the only one doing it.
